Our Ministry Partners
The Disability Caucus works in collaboration with ministry partners who share our commitment to building a more inclusive, accessible, and just Church. Together, we seek to strengthen the participation, leadership, and belonging of disabled people and people who are Deaf or hard of hearing throughout the life of the Church.
Our partnerships with the Disability Ministry Committee, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministries Committee, the United Methodist Congress of the Deaf, and Love Your Neighbor Coalition (LYNC) reflect our shared commitment to advocacy, education, spiritual formation, accessibility, and the full inclusion of all people in worship and ministry.
The Disability Ministry Committee, a partner of the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR), supports the Church’s work of recognizing the gifts and leadership of people with disabilities, encouraging congregations to remove barriers, expand accessibility, and embrace disability inclusion as an expression of Christian discipleship.
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministries Committee, a steering committee on Deaf Ministries for the United Methodist Church, advocates for the full participation of Deaf and hard of hearing people in the Church, honoring Deaf culture, language, leadership, and community while promoting accessible worship, communication, and ministry opportunities.
The United Methodist Congress of the Deaf, a Deaf caucus in The United Methodist Church, has a longstanding commitment to empowering Deaf United Methodists through fellowship, advocacy, leadership development, and ministry in American Sign Language and other accessible forms of communication.
LYNC (Love Your Neighbor Coalition) brings together people committed to justice, compassion, and advocacy within the Church and society. Through its work of building relationships, amplifying marginalized voices, and encouraging faithful action, LYNC reflects the call of Jesus to love our neighbors and work toward communities where all people experience dignity, belonging, and care.
Through these partnerships, we affirm that disabled people and Deaf and hard of hearing people are not simply recipients of ministry but essential leaders, disciples, and co-creators in the work of God’s kin-dom. Together, we seek to embody the Beloved Community—a Church where every person is welcomed, valued, and equipped to share their gifts.
